We’re used to seeing new things pop up on the various social networks out there. Sometimes we like these changes and sometimes they seem pointless. Pinterest has added a new “secret” feature that we all should take full advantage of.
Creating a “Secret” board is very similar to creating a public board. In this case you will need to select “secret”:
You want to make sure that you invite other users who you have no problem sharing your “secret” board’s pins with.
If you want to create a “secret” board directly from your boards page, you must scroll all the way to the bottom of the page.
Select “Create a Secret Board”. Pinterest will take you through the same steps that we mentioned before.
Pinterest will allow you to create up to 3 secret boards, but you can accept as many invitations to other users’ secret boards as you receive. When a board is secret, you can change it to public. You cannot change any board that is already public back to a secret board.
You’re wondering what the point of these secret boards is? Think about all of the ideas you can compile now without someone seeing it! Use your boards like a virtual filing cabinet. Store all of your images in one place and make the big reveal when you are ready or choose never to release them.
The point is to use it to your benefit.
